The verdict or results are in and I will get the payoff or payback I deserve today through the natural laws and cycles of accountability, reward, truth and consequences. But the "return on my investment" will diminish or intensify until I finally notice or reap the message sown loud and clear. Whichever way it comes in, at least it happens for a reason and keeps my life in balance. So today when it comes full circle, whatever the result, I accept that I will use it as an opportunity to either try again, make amends or make it right. Let it come around in its own time, keep my hands off the Wheel while this ride is in motion, or impose my brand and risk paying the price.

I need to exercise my prerogative, to humor the ridiculous, go out on a limb or remain the pious hold out and risk persecution. So be it. I can't validate the guilty pleasure, hang-up or self-indulgence, but I can rationalize being a willing slave to its pressure or condescend to acquiesce to avoid real suffering, even garner sympathy for my righteous sacrificeor implied martyrdom. Thus I can step it up or hang out, submit to the charade, or sacrifice to what end? But it's the inevitably lame justification that prompts posturing, or playing victim, dumb or innocent. Today I can take it, fake it, quit kidding myself, or put an end to tempting resistance and just grin and bear it. Or, call the bluff -- give them a rope and they'll hang themselves soon enough.

When we're together I'm beside myself, so I concede mutual vested interest, incentive or opportunity to my other half for valued consideration. The rest is all a dance on the sidelines of Cinderella Pandering or prohibition, or around a Bermuda Triangle of bottom line temptation to cheat by provocation, promiscuity, or shame. But here at the gate of impasse, I still have a choice and my pride.

For, like Alice, I'm on the verge of stepping into a rabbit hole; unless I stop short and play it safe, I'll know soon enough where following my own feet has landed me on this curious venture. The blissful frailty of unwritten conclusions and unguarded access sweetens the desire. So despite familiar warnings, irresistible promise draws my eyes wide open and away from domestic comfort zones, with only certain inquiry, hope and faith to recommend my course. I'll never know until I try.

But to self-correct by priority I put it on my list, pay my dues by choice and can see it coming to pass full circle.
